Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 September 2026

These terms govern your use of weintown, a private travel-availability calendar for friends and small groups. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use weintown. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You can sign up with an email address or through Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. The information you provide (such as your name and home city) should be accurate.

3. The service

weintown lets you record upcoming trips and events, share your availability with friends and groups you choose, follow other people's trips, coordinate checklists and expenses, and receive notifications about arrivals and upcoming trips. Visibility of your information is governed by the relationship and privacy controls described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create (trips, notes, comments, expenses and other information). You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate the service — for example, showing your trip to the friends you shared it with. You are responsible for the content you add and for having the right to share it.

5. Trips, groups and invitations

When you invite someone by email, you confirm you have their permission to be contacted. Group admins are responsible for managing their groups, including approving trips the group follows. Do not add people to trips or groups, or share their plans, without their consent.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use weintown for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing or fraudulent.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Attempt to access other people's private data or circumvent privacy controls.
  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-collect information from the service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
  • Send spam or unsolicited messages through invitations or notifications.

7. Intellectual property

The weintown name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may not copy, modify or redistribute them except as needed to use the service as intended.

8. Third-party services

weintown relies on third-party services such as Google (sign-in and maps) and our hosting and email providers. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or behaviour.

9. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe put other users or the service at risk.

10. Disclaimers

weintown is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that travel information entered by users is accurate. Always verify travel plans directly with the people involved.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages — including missed trips, travel costs or lost data — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (weintown is currently free, so this amount may be zero).

12. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Portugal, unless mandatory consumer law in your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
